Kennewick, WA---

Confidence defines Kamiakin football.  A program finishing second in state last season, and preparing for another title bid this fall.

Braves Head Coach Scott Biglin said, "Playing for a state championship. You know when we first came here talking about it was kind of a notion that was not in our vocabulary. Now it's hey... We saw that we could get there and we can do it."

Kamiakin Braves Senior Running Back and Linebacker Drew Oord said, "Now we know some of those west side schools. There size and strength... So that made us get into the weight room a lot more."

Kamiakin Braves Senior Quarterback Jason Hutchison said, "I feel like we all think that we should go undefeated through league. We should win this league."

The Braves return most of its offensive line from the Big 9's top offensive unit a year ago. What's new is whose under center.  First year varsity quarterback, Jason Hutchison, whose preparing to be prime time.

Hutchison added, "I'll be ready for it. I know I have a good line, so I can trust them. So I cannot focus on getting rear ended every single time."

His first game under the Friday night lights will be under ours, on SWX, September 2nd, against a familiar opponent in Prosser. The Braves beat the Mustangs 28-0 in last year's season opener.

Biglin said, "We know they're going to be very tough, and our kids don't look at the hype and whose supposed to win... Whose not supposed to win. We just want to go out and play our game. Hopefully we come out on top."

We continue with our September 2nd preview of Kamiakin and Prosser on Monday, in Mustang country, when we take a look at the Red and White.
