KENNEWICK, Wash.--A local group is looking to make a bee law. The Mid-Columbia Beekeepers Association wants to make beekeeping in the area legal.
So far there's no law against it but if enough complaints are made rules could be enforced. The organization wants to create legislation that outlines a guideline for beekeepers.
David White of the Mid-Columbia Beekeepers Association says "why not here. You can keep them in San Francisco, you can keep them in a lot of places; big cities. Kennewick has a lot of agriculture. So bees are part of that."
Proceeds are coming from honey that will be sold at next week's Benton-Franklin Fair.
The Beekeepers hold regular meeting to teach the public more about the craft of beekeeping and making natural honey.
