Teenagers vandalize signs and damage property overnight
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima police say teenagers tore up street signs and damaged some property early Monday morning. Witnesses told police about four teenagers knocked down street signs, threw trash in the road and made for quite the clean-up. It was along Walnut Street and Tieton Drive from 41st Avenue to 47th Avenue. Traffic operations fixed the signs early this morning.
"Well, I could have stuffed it right back in the ground, but they might be back tomorrow pulling it right back up again. So we've been replacing them with this bar, square tubing," said Steve Ownby, who had to fix the signs.
Police are still looking for who caused the mess. Meanwhile neighbors are sorting through what stray items are theirs.
