TOPPENISH, Wash. -- Monday was not your average music class at Toppenish High School. Students got their hands on professional audio and video equipment -- and even recorded their own tracks. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus travels the country giving students a chance to learn about music production.
While playing with the equipment, teenagers can express their creative side."These students come from the beginning of the day really shy and maybe not know the other students in their group to at the end of the day seeing what they -- their sense of accomplishment and seeing the reaction on their faces at the end of the day where they're astonished they were able to create something," said Ryan L'Esperance, a producer and engineer who has been touring with the bus for three years.
If there is enough interest the bus could come back for a more involved session where students would have enough time to write a whole song and shoot a music video.
