Children's Wishes and Dreams celebrates 100 wishes
YAKIMA, Wash.-- A special day for Children's Wishes and Dreams.
The Yakima based organization that grants wishes for local kids with life threatening or altering conditions, celebrated the giving of their 100th wish today at Sarg Hubbard Park.
The Sanchez family received a wish for their son, Gabriel, who battled autism and brain cancer. He passed away just a few weeks ago and his parents say they are so grateful for the organization, giving them great memories to remember him by.
"It's a lot of money to go do a big vacation like that and to be able to have the time to spend with him when he was still able to walk, and run, and play, and have those memories," said Misty Sanchez.
Almost 200 people turned out of the celebration today.
Heidi Anderson of Children's Wishes and Dreams says she hopes they can grant a hundred more wishes for kids all over the valley.
