Kennewick, WA--- The Tri-City Americans open up their season at home against Spokane on September 24th. What an opener it would be for these two rivals, if Chiefs head coach Don Nachbaur led Spokane against his son Daniel.
Now Daniel is in rookie camp for the Ams. Trying to make a name for himself, and get an invitation to main camp, and possibly make the opening day roster. We had a chance to catch up with Daniel about learning the game of hockey from his dad.
Daniel said, "Always pushing me a little bit harder by like... I don't know, getting me on the ice extra and back skating me... Whatever it takes I guess to get me going. Sometimes you have a father son clash... I feel like it's going to help me a lot in the end. Just trying to see if I can make myself a different player than all the other people out here, and just seeing if I could stand out a little bit more than some of the guys here."
