Health Fair aimed at Hispanic community brings crowds
ZILLAH, Wash.-- A health fair to help educate people on the importance on medical care was held in Zillah Saturday.
There were almost 30 booths set up in Loges Park giving out information on dental, care, eye care, and the need for regular doctors visits.
Organizers say they're hoping to target more Hispanic residents because a high percentage of them don't have health insurance, and cut corners when it comes to their health.
"Within the Hispanic community a lot of people don't have insurance," said Nora Gonzalez, one of the event organizers. "We're out here promoting education and awareness about a wide variety of different health issues."
Gonzalez say they'll be holding more health fairs around the Yakima Valley.
