Farmers markets push for selling quality local grown food
PASCO, Wash.--Farmers markets push for selling quality local grown food. Local grown food is considered the best for its tasting compared with larger stores.
The Pasco Farmers Market sells tons of fruits and vegetables every week. They say it is better to buy from local farmers because the food is 'tree-ripe' which gives the food better taste.
Pasco Food Market Manager Mike Somerville says "it's freshly picked, you know. It's got snap, it's got sizzle. It's very good. A lot of these other vegetables and things that are picked, they sit on store shelves or in packing houses. They slow down."
The farmers market is open through October on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
