Hundreds of motorcycles meet for a weekend memorial ride
PROSSER, Wash.--Hundreds of motorcycles meet for a weekend memorial ride. The bikers are traveling more than 150 miles in memory of Joe Vance, a friend who was killed by a car in February.
Last week Benton-County Prosecutors decided not to file charges against the person driving the car because of lack of evidence.
The bikers are upset over the decision not to charge. Motorcyclist Pat Goble says "the gentleman who died was a grandfather. I am a grandfather, and when I tell my kids about right and wrong and my grand-kids about right and wrong. It's kind of hard to explain how you can kill someone and nothing gets done about it."
The bikers say they are asking drivers to be more careful when driving near a motorcycle. According to the national transportation and safety board there has been a 230% increase in the number of motorcycle fatalities over the last 10 years.
