Judge to lawyers: Bring calendars in 2 weeks to set murder trial date
PASCO, Wash.-- A Franklin County Judge on Tuesday told attorneys for a man accused of murder to "bring your calendar" in two weeks to set trial dates.
The trial for Gregorio Luna Luna has been on hold this summer while his lawyers look for a specialized doctor to examine him. Defense attorneys say the only one in Washington isn't available until the fall, and the only out of state doctors are in New York or California and cost twice as much. State psychiatrists have determined Luna Luna competent to stand trial.
Pasco Police arrested Luna Luna last year for stabbing his former girlfriend to death.
