RICHLAND, Wash.-- The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland celebrated their colorful work force at their second annual "Taste of Diversity Street Fair."
PNNL workers took some time off their usual routine to enjoy live music, cool cars, dancing, and international food.
"It brings all the staff back together," says Nicole Gambino, who does international contracts for PNNL, "kind of gives them a break, and its nice because its a Wednesday, because its a mid-week break type thing."
Besides being a crowd pleaser, the fair also represents a day when PNNL employees can feel appreciated for who they are.
"Its very important that we have a diversity day that actually celebrates, you know, all our backgrounds, and all our cultures from where we come, so I think its pretty important for an international lab like PNNL." says Nirupuma Prakash Kumar, PNNL power systems engineer.
