KENNEWICK, Wash. - A suspicious package at the post office on Auburn street in Kennewick has turned out to be safe. A bomb squad sent a robot inside the post office to investigate but found no bomb inside the suitcase.
Thursday morning, Post office workers found an item similar to a briefcase leaning against a trash can near P.O. boxes inside the office. The case was apparently affiliated with one of the P.O. boxes. The renter was contacted but said they didn't know anything about the package. Police decided to take extra caution because of the upcoming anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, so they called in the bomb squad. Nothing dangerous was found inside.
