WEST RICHLAND, Wash. -- Many Americans will be showing their respect for the tenth anniversary of 9/11 Sunday. But, some in our local area began Saturday with a peace walk.
The Inter-faith youth group in West Richland organized the walk to remember the lives lost in the terror attacks ten years ago.
People from different religions and backgrounds participated in the six mile walk.
Some young people like Katie Hopkins who took part explain why it mean so much,"it's so important because of those people, there so special and they were so young, and just we feel sad for them, so we want to walk for them.
For other like Hayden Sprenklen, coming out was a no brainier,"for me, I'm walking for to remember the people of 9/11 like the people who helped out, the people who died."
Over a hundred people came out. The group that sponsored the event is made up of middle and high school teenagers in tri-cities area schools.
