Democrats hold meet & greet with locals

RICHLAND, Wash. --  Democrats were looking to gain ideas and hopefully new supporters in the Tri-Cities.

People running or considering running for office met with community members at the "All Democratic Picnic" at Jefferson Park in Richland.

The event designed as a casual meet and greet blended food and political conversation with people interested in representing the party in local and statewide positions.

King County Democrat Bob Ferguson, who's running for Attorney General is one of those people, "different parts of the state do have different perspectives on different issues, because frankly I don't come with a preset idea of what folks are going to say. Rather, it's coming to picnics like this, enjoy the good food and just hear what people talk about and what's going on in their community."

Several topics discussed included job creation, budget cuts, and expanding the party brand in Southeastern Washington.

The event was sponsored by several Tri-Cities Democratic Party organizations.
