Latest information on the Monastery Complex Fire

As of 9:30 a.m. Monday, the fire area is at level II, meaning all evacuees can go back to their homes. Homeonwners should be aware, however, that conditions can change. Homeowners should be prepared to leave again if necessary.  Therefore they may not want to bring back large animals yet.

Highway 97  is now open in both ways at normal speed limits

It is estimated to be 4,251 acres as of 7 p.m. Sunday, and is 50 percent contained. The estimated date of containment is Wednesday, Sept. 21.

As of 11 a.m. Sunday, 18 primary residences, five cabins, 56 outbuildings, 1 bridge, 22 unknown buildings, and possibly six more primary residences have been burned by the fire.
