YAKIMA, Wash- Two teenagers are in the hospital after being shot Monday night.

Just before 10:30 p. m. Yakima Police responded to the 1400 block of South 8th Street.  They found a male around 14-years-old who had been shot in the back.

A few blocks away they found a female about 17, who had been shot in the leg multiple times.

"They were walking home or walking somewhere when they were confronted by the subject with a gun and when they were shot, both the victims ran in separate directions", says Yakima Police Sergeant Shelley Upton.

Police say the victims are related and had non life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses describe the gunman as a bald, Hispanic, teenage male. It's unclear whether the suspect was on a bike or on foot.  They believe the shooting is gang-related.
