Community turns out for missing boy's vigil

Posted: Updated:

KITTITAS, Wash- Monday marked 7 years since a local boy went missing.  About 50 people came together tonight in Kittitas to remember Cody Haynes.  He was last seen in 2004 when he was eleven-years-old.

The vigil was organized by a Kittitas woman who never knew the missing boy.  But after finding an old missing persons flyer she was touched by his story.

"I didn't see any action so I figured I would, you know, and if it was my child this is probably what I would be doing", said Cory Sem.

Cody's father was a suspect in the disappearance but was never charged.  His mother and sisters organized the vigil with Sem.   They say they have not given up trying to find out what happened to him.  They ask anyone with information to contact law enforcement.
