KENNEWICK, Wash.--Medical issues not a factor in fatal accident. Last time we followed up on this story we expected to have an answer as to why Sally Meador, 53, died in a horrific car accident last month.
The toxicology report indicates there was nothing medical that was the cause. Although prescription drugs were found in her system, but they were just minor amounts of opiate.
The coroner says it was not enough to have any affect on Meador's driving. The coroner also told us there were no signs of some of the most common medical problems they see causing accidents like this.
Benton County Coroner John Hansens "we do not have any medical reason for the accident. We were able to eliminate a few causes. We do not believe a stroke was involved, we do not believe a seizure was involved."
One of the last possible options to explain the death is a malfunction that could have been caused by the car. Kennewick police say they're still putting together a report on that.
