BENTON CITY, Wash.-- Rival gangs team up against deputies. The number of gangs have been increasing.

Deputies are doing what they can to limit the growth of new gangs in the area. This presents new challenges. Now some rival gangs are teaming up together to take down law enforcement.

Benton County Sheriff Steve Keane says "there are times where they develop relationships for short periods of time to accomplish a common goal. In some cases develop you know a strong us against them."

According to the Justice Department of National Gang Intelligence larger cities like Seattle reported 85% of adolescent robberies being gang related. In other areas there are 30% of youth who are involved with gangs by age 17.

The Benton County Sheriff says they want to do everything they can to reduce the number of gangs and gang members in neighborhoods, and learn how other cities with gang problems are handling the issue.
