YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Yakima Valley Quilter's Guild donated $10,000 to the Memorial Foundation Wednesday.
The donation was made to sponsor mammogram's for valley women who may not otherwise be able to afford the procedure.
O'Hana, which is Memorial Hospital's mammography center accepted the check in conjunction with their 5th year anniversary.
They hope to be able to help hundreds more women with the money.
"These people in the community have banded together and they've come up with this money and they donated it just for you, to pay for your exam... They're so thankful," said Nancy Roehr, who works at O'Hana, Memorial's Mammography Center.
The money was raised by the Quilter's Guild through sales of a silent auction during this years quilt show. They donate money to the mammography center every other year.
