University was tired of being called the best winless team in the Greater Spokane League. So they took it out on Gonzaga.
The Titans used a stout passing offense and took advantage of two Bullpup turnovers to beat Prep 35-14 on their home turf. Quarterback Connor Johnson, who used to play at Prep before transferring to UHigh threw for 214 yards and three touchdowns.
University also ran for 197 yards, with Adrian Bonner accounting for 93 of those yards.
UHigh faces an even tougher test against 3-0 Central Valley next week. Gonzaga Prep will face a one-loss Lewis and Clark team.
More GSL, probably the most dramatic game of tonight, the Mead Panthers pull off a 21-10 come-from-behind win over Lewis and Clark.
Mean had to get to overtime to have a chance Friday. They tied it up at 14 a piece on the last play of the game. In OT, the Tigers scored first, but missed the extra point, giving Mead a chance to win. The Panthers came through, scoring a touchdown and hit the extra point to win in OT.
