5K run brings in money for Children's Hospital fund
RICHLAND, Wash.-- 5K run brings in money for Children's Hospital fund. Early this morning almost a hundred people showed up for the Halos and Wings 5k run.
A local woman set up the event to help raise money for a fund at children's hospital that helped pay for her son's medical procedure. This is the first Halos and Wings run that's been done for Children's Hospital.
Event organizer Angela Combs says "I'm trying to give back to them for giving so much to my son who has craniosynostosis."
Families as far as Montana showed up for the event at Howard Amon Park. About $3,000 was raised by runners and local sponsors.
Another run is already being planned for next year.
