YAKIMA, Wash.-- U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar made a stop in Yakima Sunday.
He along with Gov. Gregoire, Sen. Cantwell, and Rep. Hastings met with various organizations who have stake in the water needs of the Yakima Water Basin.
The Bureau of Reclamation outlined an Integrated Water Resource Management Plan for the area that has been in the works for years. The plan addresses water supply needs, fish and wildlife habitat conservation, and water availability in the region.
Secretary Salazar urged the stake holders to continue to move forward so he can prioritize federal dollars for the project as needed.
