One man says he was supposed to be at the Reno Air Show the day of the crash
10 people including a pilot were killed Friday during an air show in Reno, Nevada. Three victims were from Washington; two from Bellingham, one from Everett. Close to 70 people were hospitalized.
Our reporter, Chloe Beardsley has a family member who was supposed to be sitting right where the plane crashed. Ken Beardsley was supposed to with his family, but he got called into work so they missed the show.
Chloe spoke with her cousin who said he and his family were thankful to not be sitting in the seats, but said "...for the people who got injured and stuff like that. We're happy that we weren't. We're sad that things, you know that things happen. Accidents can still happen. Even though it's one accident, but they have to put some better regulations and stuff in."
Beardsley's family attended the air show the day before the crash. Ken says even though the event was tragic, he hopes the show continues. Ken went on to say that if spectators were seated farther back, the accident could possible have been prevented.
