KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans are rebuilding their goaltending. In the off-season they traded for Ty Rimmer and drafted Eric Comrie. Both guys have a shot at quality playing time this season, according to coach Jim Hiller says they will get equal ice time in the pre-season. Hiller will determine each goalie's role from there.
Comrie and Rimmer split time in last week's pre-season opener, each giving up one goal. Hiller said, "They played very well. They did that in training camp and we have high expectations for both of them. So when they play well, we're not surprised." Comrie added, "I think Ty's a good goaltender. Really he's done a great job telling me different things. I'd like to think of myself as a good tracking-the-puck goalie and pretty calm and patient in net also."
