KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-City Americans are getting close to their season opener against the Spokane Chiefs on Saturday. One storyline to watch is who starts for the Americans in goal. Tri-City started the young stand-out Eric Comrie their final pre-season game. Veteran off-season pick-up Ty Rimmer played the second half of that game.
Head Coach Jim Hiller has split time for the two and says he has not decided who will be the number one goalie. "They're both going to play, they're both very good. And they are going to push each other and our team has full confidence in both of them," Hiller said. "It's a good felling you know we've both solid 'tenders. Both are capable of the job. We're looking forward to the year with them. I'm sure they're both going to get the opportunity and just really confident up front knowing we got a guy that's going to help us back there," added left winger Adam Hughesman.
