YAKIMA, Wash.-- Organizers at the Central Washington State Fair expect 300,000 people to walk through the gates this year.
The fair starts tomorrow and includes more than 80 food vendors, a rock and roll exhibit with the piano from the movie "Big", as well as a new LED lit ferris wheel. Organizers say the light display on the wheel will be a pretty impressive sight.
"It truly is mind-boggling... And they change colors, I think they can even put up the American flag on it. It'll be visible from a long ways off," says General Manager Greg Stewart.
Stewart says the fair is a major economic help for Yakima.
The fair starts Friday morning at 11. Admission is $12 for adults, $7 for kids (6-12), $9 for seniors, and kids five and under get in free. There is also a $7 parking fee.
