Fairgoers can meet exotic animals up close

YAKIMA, Wash.-- The Central Washington State Fair in Yakima is still in full swing. One of the most popular attractions is the chance to see exotic and interesting animals up close.

The  "Walk on the Wild Side" exhibit is at the Pepsi Stage on the Fairgrounds, they have over 50 different animals from different parts of the world. Visitors can even hold and take pictures with several of them.  But the handlers say one of the biggest draws is Shere Khan, their Bengal tiger.

"We hear people going by talking about how neat he looks, how sleek, and... Just a beautiful animal," says Animal Caregiver Mike Mills.

Mills says "Walk on the Wild Side" shows are intended to educate people about wild animals. Visitors can stop by and take a look at the exhibit until the fair ends on October second. Mills says he hopes they're invited back next year.
