Local distribution company expanding

KENNEWICK, Wash., --  Shari and Robert Thompson have started construction on a new $5.5 million warehouse distribution center off I-82 at the Badger Canyon exit.

The couple own four-year-old Vintners Logistics which offers food-grade warehousing.  It also owns a fleet of nine refrigerated and dry vans and does wine repacking, wine club service, and transportation for about 300 of the area's wineries.

Conner Construction is the general contractor for the new 80,000 sq.-ft. temperature controlled warehouse.

"The whole objective here is to improve our efficiencies and help reduce our cost," says Owner Robert Thompson.  "It will also provide additional services to our customer base while allowing us to be much more scalable as we're able to meet their continuing needs."

Vintners Logistics and its 12 employees will move into its new location in February.
