PROSSER, Wash. -- It is not easy to follow in the footsteps of great Prosser quarterbacks Kellen Moore and Jordan Durbin. Junior quarterback Ryan Fassler is sure making it look easy. Since taking the starting job in 2009, Fassler has led the Mustangs to a 20-6 record. This year has been the quarterback's best season to date. Fassler is completing 70 percent of his passes and has thrown nine touchdowns.

As for following in Moore's and Durbin's footsteps, Fassler said he does not dwell on it. "You really just can't think about it you know. I mean Kellen obviously was amazing, growing up watching him and Jordan and just all the history of the quarterbacks. Just kind of got to not worry about it and do the best you can every week," Fassler said.

"First of all he understands football and with the history of quarterback play and just the smart decision making over the years that we've had all the way through the 90's and 2000's. Ryan's definitely right up there. He's on his way to becoming a top five quarterback in our program if he can keep this up," added Benji Sonnichsen, Prosser head coach.

Prosser will play Ellensburg this Friday. The game will broadcast live on SWX at 7 p.m.
