A better running game could help balance offense for Central Washington

Posted: Updated:

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- The Central Washington Wildcats have been pass-happy the first three games. Some of it has to do with the match-ups they have seen, some because the backfield is young and banged up. The team said they want to balance the offense more with the run game this week against Simon Fraser.

"We really miss a couple of tight ends that we had last year. We do have Griffin Squires back again as one of our tight ends and he blocks very well for us, and we're missing a running back. You know, running backs have been banged up for a little bit. Hopefully we can balance that run and pass a little better this week," said Blaine Bennett, Wildcats head coach.
