Barnville exhibit allows fairgoers see 160 animals up close
YAKIMA, Wash.-- There are several new attractions this year at the Central Washington State Fair, one of those is the Barnville Petting Zoo.
It features 160 animals including a Watusi, an African bull with huge horns and a one thousand pound pig. Visitors even get a chance to milk a cow. The owners say they're surprised at some of the questions people ask.
"Why milk is warm when it comes out of a cow is probably the most common question... That proves to us that people are very disconnected from their food supply," says Barnville Co-owner Connie Boger.
The owners take their animals to different fairs all over the country. If you want to milk one of the cows, it happens every day at two, four, six, seven, and eight PM. The exhibit is open until the fair ends on Sunday October 2nd.
