Officer back on the beat after Iraq tour of duty

KENNEWICK, WA-A Kennewick police officer is back on patrol after a tour of duty in Iraq.

Police Chief Ken Hohenberg and fellow police officers Friday gave officer Jeffrey Sagen a welcome home party.

Sagen spent the past year in Iraq as a member of the Oregon National Guard.

During his tour of duty, the Army promoted Sagen to captain and awarded him the Bronze Star for leading his company into combat.

Sagan's wife and two young children attended the party. With the couple expecting their third child later this year, Sagen says he hopes this was his last tour of duty.

"We'll see. I've got enough years in that when the next one comes around I'll be close to twenty. I don't want to go again, but if I'm told to go, then I'm going to go."

Sagen says he wore his KPD patch on his armor during his tour of duty.
