KENNEWICK, Wash., -- The Grigg's family is opening a new Ace Hardware & Sporting Goods store next to Safeway on Kennewick Avenue.
Safeway is getting some updates valued at $605,000. The grocery store is also downsizing a bit, and that additional space will be transformed into the new Ace Hardware & Sporting Goods.
The Kennewick Avenue location will be the fourth Ace Hardware in the Tri-Cities. About 20 employees will work at the new 18,000-sq.-ft. store when it opens early next year.
"It should be a great location," says Vice President of Griggs Hardware Charlie Grigg. "I'm not excited about the amount of work that goes into it, but the prospects are very good; expanding is a good thing."
