RICHLAND, Wash.--Flag ceremony for breast cancer. A flag ceremony this morning at Kadlec Medical Center brought in quite the crowd.

Survivors and Kadlec staff kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month by raising a flag above the hospital. A toast was given in honor of those who have won and lost the battle to the disease.

Cancer survivor Gayle Staley says "believe and have faith. You have to go on every day and if you don't , you know, cancer can take you. It freezes you. But you know, knowing that you can survive it, gives you freedom. It does."

The flag will be up through October. It was sewn together by staff member Jan Jacobs. This is the 6th year Kadlec has raised the flag.
