PASCO, Wash.-- Facebook contest brings new customers. Facebook has become a tool for not only people looking to reconnect with friends but also for businesses. Now even farmers markets are using the social network.
Some local farmers market representatives say Facebook has helped them to advertise their products, times and location and now they've found another nitch. They say by having contests and giving away free merchandise every week through Facebook they're drawing in bigger crowds.
Marketing Director Heather Hull Hart says "we on Facebook, we're trying to get our customers to come to our page, to 'like' our page. For the month of October we're going to be giving away gifts from vendors and farmers here at the market."
The Pasco Farmers Market will continue to have contests until the end of the month. They say they will be giving away different prizes and gift certificates through their vendors every Saturday until November.
