Salon donating proceeds for breast cancer awareness
RICHLAND, Wash. -- October is breast cancer awareness month, and one business is doing their part to help.
The Academy of Cosmetology in Richland is taking part in the Susan G. Komen passionately pink for the cure.
Unlike most business that may donate a portion of their sales, the school is donating all of their profits from haircuts to the foundation.
"We're passionate about what we do and want to give back to the community. So Susan G. Komen looks at the zip code of the organization that's holding the fundraiser and the funds go directly back to the community they come from," explains hair dresserRachel Robbins.
The schools goal is to raise @2,500. 00 dollars for the event. But shop managers say you don't have to get a haircut to help, they're also accepting donations. The fund raising event will go all month.
