Pasco Autoplex driving out hunger with Octoberfest

PASCO, Wash. --   Several car dealerships in Pasco want to help drive hunger out of the Tri-Cities with the 10th Annual Octoberfest food drive, organized by the Pasco Autoplex and Yokes Fresh Market.

Dealerships are collecting canned food donations, and donating a portion of each car they sell this month.  The money is going to the food banks in the area.

"We started this food drive this time of year ten years ago because of the great need of food in our food banks when we get into the winter months and holiday seasons," Craig Cavanaugh, the General Manager of all the McCurley stores.

Cavanaugh says, last year's food drive brought the estimated 9 year total to 255,000 pounds of food.  People can also buy pre-filled bags of food to donate at Yokes Fresh Market Stores.
