KENNEWICK, Wash.- Teenagers acually got out of bed *early* Wednesday morning to raise breast cancer awareness.
Students from all over Kennewick put on their best stylized pink outfits, and showed up to Kamiakin high school before 6 a.m.
The schools teamed up to raise around $30,000 for the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
The students said it was great to put aside sporting rivalries and work together.
"When the M.C. said everyone stand up if you know somebody affected by cancer, I would say 99 percent stood up," says Junior Hayden Behen
"I actually stood at the top to take a picture and it looked awesome. All the kids together and it really showed that we're unifying our community and bringing it together for one cause," says Junior Nicole Renard.
"To come together on one cause it's really cool to see. Because we're not fighting; we're just raising money together," says Senior Kayla McCormick
If you'd like to join the students in their efforts, Kennewick High is holding a dinner at six in their cafeteria and kamiakin is having a concert at seven in their auditorium.
