Tri-Cities libraries now Kindle friendly

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA-You can now borrow e-books from Kindle by going through libraries in the Tri-Cities.

The eleven branches of the Mid Columbia Libraries and the Richland Public Library have expanded their download catalogues to include selected titles offered by Amazon.

You can download the titles to your Kindle, tablet, smart phone, or home computer.

Mid Columbia Libraries collections and merchandising director Michael Huff says the library continues to expand its downloadable catalogue, now containing about 20,000 items.

"Over the past year we've seen a 300 percent increase in people wanting e-books and download-able audio books," Huff says.

The Mid Columbia Libraries will give away two Kindles at the end of the month. You can enter the drawing three ways: through the app on the MCL Facebook page, its website, www.midcolumbialibraries.org, and with each library e-book you download.
