YAKIMA, Wash.-- Jane Goodall isn't the only famous person who will visit Yakima in the next year.
Her speech was part of a series held by Yakima Town Hall. The town hall organization schedules four speakers a year from all parts of the country and the world. Past speakers include Henry Winkler, Salmon Rushdie, and Steve Forbes. For the organization, it's about showcasing a different part of the world to Yakima.
"We bring that to Yakima, so you don't have to travel and you can experience what our speakers have experienced in their real life," says Eileen Merrell of the Yakima Town Hall.
The next speaker is Rabbi Brad Hirschfield on November ninth, followed by Gina Barreca and Michio Kaku in the spring. You can buy tickets to the speeches on Yakima Town Hall's website here.
