PASCO, Wash.- Homeschooling has come a long way over the years.
55 children between the ages of 9 and 16 will be taking a field trip to the Tri-Cities Airport Friday.
They will take 5 hands-on classes in aviation including preflight, navigation, and communication.
A group of female pilots called the Mid Columbia Ninety-Nines will be teaching the students, and on our morning show they gave a few lucky kids a sneak peak at the lesson plan.
"The airplane catches air and the wires help the extra air bleed off of the airplane. And I also learned what control you need to turn the airplane and take off and land," says 11 year old Kahlea Sullivan
The field trip was made possible by the Mid-Columbia Partnership which works with parents to provide options and variety to their students' home education.
