WAPATO, Wash.-- A huge turnout Saturday for the 7th Annual Wapato Tamale Festival.
People packed the streets of Downtown Wapato for the event.
Tamales, taco's, and a variety of other food were available.
There was even a car show and dancers to keep people interested while they ate.
The Wapato Chamber of Commerce says the festival is a great way to show off some of the entertainment Wapato has to offer.
"Already we've got more people here this time than we did last year. And the reason we started it was really to bring people to town and show them what a really great little community we have," said Debra Manjarrez, president of the Wapato Chamber of Commerce.
Last year they sold about 4,000 tamales to event goers, but they say they're hoping to beat that this year!
There was even a tamale competition, where judges picked this year's best tamale.
