YAKIMA, Wash.-- Farmers are continuing to bring their harvest to Farmer's Markets around the state.

Yakima's Farmer's Market runs until the end of this month and farmers say in some cases they are still picking fruit off the trees.

Jon Phillips with Johnson Orchards in Yakima says it's a great time to buy peaches and nectarines, but that certain types of hard fruit is still coming off the trees.

"There's still more varieties of apples that have to be picked yet. Especially the late varieties of apples that will store well and keep over the winter," said Phillips.

Phillips says that although the late start to the season kept them from picking, they are now seeing fruit a little later. Their fruit stand at Johnson Orchards in Yakima, expected to stay open until Christmas.
