ZILLAH, Wash.-- Yakima County Fire District 5 is competing to win a new semi-truck, but they need your help!
The department has put together a video to compete in a contest to win a new Caterpillar truck but they need votes.
The semi-truck will be used to get firefighting equipment to and from large wildfires.
Their current semi-trucks have an average of one million miles each on them, and have even broken down on the way to fires.
"Beginning next year when we get back into wildfire season, this is something that you'll see at any major fire that's going on. We use this a lot on the ridge fires," said Andy Babcock, a firefighter with District 5.
Babcock says winning this contest would help the department and save taxpayer dollars in the long run.
