PROSSER, Wash.-- New hospital partnership benefits patients. When someone is in the emergency room every second counts when you're waiting to see a doctor.
A new partnership between Prosser Memorial Hospital and Kadlec Regional Medical Center will share patients information on the same computer system.
The information can be accessed quicker by doctors in the emergency room. Patients can have access to medical care at both hospitals. Kadlec Health Systems CEO Rand Wortman says "you avoid unnecessary duplicate testing and should be able to make a diagnosis more quickly with more complete information."
The affiliation with Kadlec Medical Center also allows Yakima Valley and other rural residents access to Kadlec's health care services like open-heart surgery, cardiology, and neurosurgery. Kadlec patients will also be able to use Prosser's level 4 trauma center and other state-of-the art technology.
