RICHLAND, WA-A professional jump roper had the kids jumping at Jason Lee Elementary in Richland.
Rene Bibauld is a world champion jump roper, jumping professionally for thirty years. Bibauld performed in the French-Canadian troupe Cirque du Soleil. She now lives in Seattle and tours 200 schools a year promoting physical fitness and positive attitudes.
I'm trying to give kids a fitness tool to have fun and stay in shape," Bibauld says, "but more than that, I'm also talking to kids about goal setting, best effort, avoiding comparing themselves to others and not being afraid to try new things and making mistakes."
Along with several students who volunteered during Tuesday's assembly, Bibauld brought school principal Joe Jisa to the stage to show him the ropes.
