Fire at Edwin Markham Elementary; school evacuated
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. -- Students, teachers and administrators were evacuated from Edwin Markham Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. Fire crews responded to smoke filling the building at about 1:30 pm. They say it was started on purpose, in a bathroom. Firefighters found a burned roll of paper towels. They set up ventilation units to air out the school. Everyone was eventually let back in to part of the building. School was let out on time.
