RICHLAND, Wash.-- Four men arrested after stolen property is found. A backpack was found with stolen weapons, drugs and cash. The backpack was found at the 100 block of Rosemary Street in Richland. Police tracked down and arrested the owner of the backpack.
18-year old Aaron Brown left a police ticket issued to him from Oregon in the bag along with the pistol and drugs. Brown confessed to detectives, then arrested 19-year old Hunter Johnson, 19-year old Devin Sakach and another 17-year old male in connection with the crime.
The men face several charges, including possession of a stolen firearm, and vehicle prowling. Police recovered more than $10,000 worth of stolen property. Capt. Mike Cobb says "right now we've recovered three firearms. A 45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, one rifle and a shot gun. We're still recovering stolen property."
The men admitted to stealing the items and being involved in more than 45 car prowls in the area. Investigators found another stash of stolen property out in West Richland. They found six more backpacks, filled with ipods, sunglasses, and cameras. They also found a stash of marijuana, mushrooms and cash.
Police are still finding more stuff that the men stole. The case is still under investigation.
