RICHLAND, Wash.-- Small earthquake in Richland. According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network it was a 3.4 magnitude quake. It happened at 11:11 p.m.
There have been no reported damages and we don't expect any bigger earthquakes in the near future. West Richland and parts of Pasco also felt some shaking.
Director John Vidale says "we've had a lot of swarms in the last couple of years. We've had hundreds of little events in the same place. Although this event didn't have very many earthquakes after it. "
We're told neighbors have nothing to worry about. The earthquakes are called swarms which are smaller quakes and pretty common in Eastern Washington.
The chances of a bigger one happening are about 1/1,000.
